Kekai, gr. 2

Second grade had a great time making party hats out of material meant for the recycle bin this semester. Students saved jello, yogurt, pudding, fruit cup and tofu containers and transformed them into art! These hats are so fun and playful. You can really see each kids personality expressed through the hats.

Evelyn, Isabella, Rylie, gr. 2

To cover the hats, they used a ripped paper and paper mâché technique. The final step was decorating with various craft materials.

Miriam, gr. 2 (was absent but her hat was so fabulous I had to share it)

Some kids incorporated braiding, which they taught to each other, and others added surprises inside the hat that was meant to make a mess (confetti). Ha! It was fun watching the share ideas.

Eryn, Eleanor, Emery, gr. 2

Bella, Zoe, Vivienne, Kahala, gr. 2
