Circus Posters - 6th grade

This year the Parent Teacher Board asked us if we could make some decorations for Fright Night, the annual Halloween party. This year's theme was based on the movie, 'The Greatest Showman.' So, we decided to try making some "vintage" circus posters.

We found some images from the movie, as well as some authentic old fashioned posters to help us draw. Most of the students were familiar with the content of the movie, but some were not. Naturally we had to have a discussion about how different things were back then, because some people were not treated very well because they looked different and exploited for money.

After finishing the drawing, students were asked to add a catchy headline to the layoout to grab the viwers attention. Finally, they added paint, marker and oil pastel to color it in.

We hung the posters all around campus for the event. They really added to the atmosphere and were a huge success!
