I have shared this project before on this blog. This is our Wayne Thiebaud project that we do every year in grade 4. The objectives are to learn to draw in three dimensions, using shading, layering colors, and most importantly to look carefully and see what is really there. Part of the fun is experimenting with using colored paper underneath oil pastels and creating interesting textures. But, this year a student has produced a truly beautiful piece of work. Her attention to detail and sensitivity to color need to be celebrated. I am so proud of her. I have included a close up so that you can see what I mean.
