Mythical Creatures- Grade 5

5th graders just finished a challenging project that uses a combination of keen observation skills as well as imagination. Students were asked to create their own mythical creature using photographs of real animals for reference and combining their features.

The next step was imagining what their habitat would look like based on their physical attributes.

Students were asked to add texture and imagine what type of skin/hair/scales the animal might have. Materials used were watercolor, and colored pencil.
