"Clarence T. C. Ching was a man of vision and philanthropy. The Clarence T. C. Ching Foundation “Inspired in Hawaii” Contest encourages Hawaii’s students to follow the legacy of Clarence T. C. Ching, “dream big and make Hawaii a better place!” Identify a problem in Hawaii and offer a creative, thoughtful solution by expressing and depicting your message clearly in a poster." - From the Clarence T.C. Ching homepage.
For the annual contest we worked on our posters during art class in grades 3-5. We started with a huge discussion about all the problems we've noticed in our community. Problems identified ranged from caring for our environment (a popular theme probably due to where we live), to homelessness and bullying. Congratulations to Claire P. in grade 3, and Elia H. in grade 5 for winning. You'll find out what place you got at the award ceremony on Feb. 20th 2019, 5:00pm at Kahala Mall.

Here are a few other entries that I thought were particularly well developed and deserve some recognition.
