3D Abstract Ceramic Wall Hangings - Summer Sculpture

This project combined a bunch of differnt concepts, techniques and elements including 3D, abstract, surrealism, and texture.

One of the main goals I set for the students was to play around with a wide wariety of sizes, heights and spacing. And, to overlap. I was pleasantly surprised with how playful these turned out. It was pretty clear how much fun they were having.

The creativity even extended into their glazing where they experimented with splattering it and overlapping it to create a gradation or "umbre" look. Before glazing, we discussed some basic color theory including monochromatic, complimentary and analagous color schemes.
