The first graders had fun reviewing the line/shape families which are: straight, curvy, angled, dots and circles. These "families" are like the A, B, C's of drawing. Once you know how to make them, you can draw anything! They overlapped these lines/shapes and created a fun, creative abstract drawing. Students experimented with layering art materials such as colored pencils, markers and oil pastels and invented new techniques which were shared with the class.
